The Office of Public Works in Ireland has Selected GKD’s
2RCi for installation on their latest batch of machines.
This marks a major shift for the OPW who have previously
used a generic market RCI.
However the OPW were impressed with the ease of use of
the GKD system and furthermore an ability for them to be
able to service the system effectively in the field.
Given the nature of their work and the importance of safety
to them as a public body it was imperative that they had
a system where they were able to provide the firt line
of service themselves. Working their machines in often
remote and rural parts of Ireland service access is sometimes
limited. However to overcome this GKD have trained a select
number of their own Engineers in the service of our RCi
systems allowing them flexibility when service is required.
Allied to this training the OPW are now in a position to
certify their own machines.
Given the nature of the works GKD also have developed
a sensor that is more durable and rugged so as to eliminate
any breakdowns which might come about because of sensor
failure or damage.
